I’m sure the majority of America’s teenagers and young adults are familiar with the phrase “FML”. It’s most commonly used in a situation in which the user is caught in a situation that they feel has ruined their life. Before I say what I’m about to say I must state that I am saying this out of the utmost love and respect for everyone who uses the term.
Just think about this: Is your life really ruined if you have a bad hair day or if you got a C or even a D or an F on a homework assignment, test, project or paper? The answer is no. I realize that it’s just a phrase but I estimate that nearly everyone whom I have heard use the term is better off in every aspect of their lives than 95% of the nearly 7 billion other people on earth. Your life is not ruined. I feel like changing the ‘L’ to ‘D’ (day) or even ‘W’ (week) would make for a more appropriate phrase. So when crap happens, remember all that’s good in your life and that everything is going to be fine in the end. :)
Love,
Ryan
